La Maison de Wakefield is a charming 18th century stone house located in the enchanting medieval village of Martel in the heart of south west France. Martel is surrounded by rolling hills, farmland and walnut groves and is close to wineries, distilleries and truffle farms.
Beautifully decorated with French linens, brocante finds, antique furniture and vintage treasures. Featuring a winding staircase, chandeliers and the original wide oak floors. Enjoy an aperitif or your morning espresso under the old wisteria tree in the bijou courtyard. Listen to an old vinyl, play a board game or read one of the many curated books from the library.
Based on eco-tourism and sustainability. Provisions are organic and/or locally sourced, including a deluxe Welcome Hamper with a bottle of organic wine. French toiletries are organic and vegan, as well as all cleaning products.
The house has three queen rooms and one single room, which also doubles as a second petite salon.
